20 inch rims

Has anyone installed 20 inch rims on their 4th Gen Camaro.

If you have please let me know the dimensions of the rim, the size of the tires, and what alterations to suspension and or wheelwell you had to preform. My biggest fear is rubbing the tires in the wheelwell.

A tire shop recommended not to exceed 18''

Any and all opinions and instructions are appreciated.

Pictures are also welcomed.

Thanks

Pure

Why would you want 20" on your camaro? IMHO 18" is enough on an F-body and I am quite happy with my 17".

Did you try the search feature ?

"Whistler" and "Aircop40" are 2 users that have 20's

I also have some photos on page 7 of my sig.

You will want to consider the VERY EXPENSIVE TIRES you will need to run 20's. Also you will need a specialized alignment and tire shop to handle any issues with them...

Cool

Yes, you CAN run 20" wheels and tires. They will not rub if you get the right offset and tires. I have airbags on my car and have not had any problems with it rubbing. I would assume with a 2-3" drop it would probably be o.k. I think they look great. However, I don't think they work well on a daily driver. I have seen a number of vehicles that bubble tires etc-the only way to combat that is to find a dealer who will sell you a road hazard warranty-there is a place out here called America's Tire that will sell you them, even on tires that are not bought from there!!

Phatest 4th gen camaro on the planet (In my humble opinion )

.............

Any and all opinions and instructions are appreciated.

You need to decide.... do you want to "show" or do you want to "go"? 20's will have an negative impact on driveability, acceleration and exposure to damage.... not a problem if your car is for show. But a problem if its intended to produce straight line acceleration, or reasonable ride. I doubt you would even see any significant improvement in cornering capabilities, with the limited compliance of the 4th Gen's solid rear axle.

Just MHO.... but then I'm prejudiced toward the "go" side.... .

In my humble opinion, the absolute largest I would go is 19". That would be my maximum. I have 17s now.

Based on what people have posted I think 18" is the safest way to go. I have a '98 and have never driven it in rain, snow or to work. But this year I'm releasing her in May as a daily driver up until September.

So...........

Any recomendations on 18" rims.

All opinions and recommendations appreciated.

Thanks

20'z are no problem. I'm actually planning on runnin 20 inch Intro's on my 2000 Camaro. Contrary to other opinion they will not affect the handling, check out GMhighperformance.com and find the Sprewell Camaro with fully built LS1 and supercharger. You'll have to roll the fenders a lil and beef up your existing suspension.
Check out my 2000 Camaro page and go to my favorite 4th Gen's. I have over 10 3rd and 4th gen's on Dubz. To me the best combo is 18 or 19x9.5 front and 20x10 rear. Aircop is rockin 19'z front 20'z rear.
To go to the page it's http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/stangkilla2
I think it's page 6 (cant remember)

For 3rd gens check out my 86 Z-28 page http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/stangkilla1
and go to my favorite 3rd Gens, might give yall some ideas

These cars have huge wheelwells.

17s look lost
18s...... getting warm. This is the minimum IMO

They start to look funny after 18" IMO.
The only way you can get away with 20" wheels is on trucks.
