1st step of 95 z28 to 97 z28

Well i completed the first step of my 97 conversion on my car. This weekend i installed a set of 97+ Tail lights. It was kind of a PITA because i wanted to run the extra wire thats need to make the tail lights work, in the stock location. So i had to remove every panel the whole length of the car and cut the harness open and install the wire then rewrap the harness the whole way. It took a long time but it was done right and i think the tail lights give the car a newer look. It doesn't look as dated as the 93-96 tail lights. Also i like the orange on a black car, it makes my front corner lights not look so out of place as the only orange on the car.
Here is a pic of the before

Here is after. Sorry for the quick pic at my GF's apartment but it gives you an idea though.

The next step is the 97+ Camaro dash that i'll be installing on friday. After that i'll get some good pics up of everything. After that my car will look pretty much like a 97 Camaro minus the DRL's but i don't like those anyways.

Nice! I also like the amber lenses on the black cars, the only color I like the 93-96 lights is bright red. Love the corsa tips too. If you would, take plently of pictures when you do the dash swap. I've been wanting to convert my '95 to the newer dash as well. I can't decide between the new Camaro dash or the Trans Am style. Thanks in advance.

Ok i'll try to remember to take my camera out to my buddies house when we do the swap. I like my TA dash but i've always wanted the 97+ Camaro dash and just took the TA dash because it was given to me for Free. If you decide you want to go with the TA dash i will be selling most of the parts that are small and easy to ship. I have a nice cluster TA cluster that'll work on any 93-97 LT1 car and it has Macewen white faced gauges, TA bezel with only 20k on the clock. I have a Brand new 1 month old OEM TA dash pad, and a lot of the other pieces. The only thing is i don't really want to ship the entire dash shell but i might if someone really wants it.

What kind parts are needed for the swap? I would love to work out a deal with ya, if the swap isn't too expensive(Broke college student).Too bad the drive from Columbus to Kansas is a long haul... Just let me know what is all needed and what your looking to get out of the parts. Thanks a lot!

Well you need the A/C controls, A/C and defroster ducting, radio, cluster, cluster trim bezel, fog light switch, radio trim, 93+ Bird or 97+ Camaro cluster plug, 93+Bird or 97+ Camaro Windshield pillars, Glove box, Drivers side under steering column panel, and headlight switch. It can be a lot of pieces if you have to piece one together. If i sold my TA stuff i'd have everything to complete the swap minus Cluster plug (which can be bought from a dealer for a few dollars), windshield pillars because i have to reuse mine and i believe thats it. I'd probably ask $325 for all of it because one month ago i just spent $160+ shipping on the brand new oem dash pad, and the cluster is a real low mileage one with $100 macewen overlays and $40 97+ TA bezel/Lens. So in those two items alone i have almost my asking price.

Oh and for reference, for me to get my Camaro dash shipped from illinois to Ks it cost me $90.

I just paid $260 for my 97+ Camaro dash and all i got with it was the A/C ducting, head light switch, cluster trim bezel, glove box and under column panel. I still had to find a used dash pad $100, 97 Camaro Cluster with 118k $35 (i got a steal on it though), and radio bezel with switches. ($40)

Edit and i know how being a broke college kid is. I remember driving up to Springfield Mo. To get my hood.

Are your old tail lights in great shape? My left one was cracked when someone hit my parked car.

Thanks! The driver's one is all I need as well. I just realized "left" wasn't very specific.
