1st Gen Vinyl Top problems

I recently had some work done to my 69 Camaro and the idiots got some overspray of some kind on the vinyl top. I specifically told them to make sure that it was covered properly. Oh well. i was wondering what to use to get it off with out messing up the vinyl top. I bought some vinyl top cleaner and that didn't work. I tried some vinegar that didn't do it. I am at an impasse and don't want to replace the top if it isn't necessary. You really can't tell to bad but I can. And if I know that iif it is there it is going to bother me.

anybody have any ideas....it is a black vinyl top and I will replace it before I dye it.

thanks

i am going to try the gas and water this afternoon. if that doesn't do the trick who knows, the overspray I think is epoxy primer overspray if that matters
