Re: 1997 Camaro Seatbelt Harness
A buddy of mine had a 9-second 30th SS convertible, with the white leather interior. He had a full NHRA certified cage, and 5 point harness with "Y" type shoulder straps, with the stock seats. He had an upholstery shop cut a single slot for the shoulder straps at the center of the headrest, and finished the opening with matching white leather. Seat maintained an absolutely stock look.
I'm going through my photos to see if I have anything showing his seats. I do have a photo of the 8-second version of the car, but by then he was using an aluminum drag seat.
[EDIT] I found a couple, but not real clear. One shows the seat from the front, and the other from the back, but you can't see a lot of detail. I try and upload them to my website so I can link them.

Thanks! I do like that center cut out version. I found inserts for cut outs, but 2 of them.

I would some how need have the points of the harness bolted or welded too. I would though need to have the harness street legal.

You may be better off with the inserts. Seems that recently when I have looked at harnesses, they don't seem to off the "Y" type shoulder straps any more. The photos above are about 12 years old.
