SAE 10W is a single viscosity oil. Not the same as 10W-30 multi-viscosity oil.

Hi Darkheart,

I am sorry to be late to the party but it sounds like you are in good hands. You are getting the pump to run so you don't have an electrical problem but probably do have a hydraulic leak. I don't have any experience tracing the hydraulic lines for leaks as my car always held fluid and I never had to top it up. I do know from working on hydraulic gate operators (my trade) that once you add oil to a system it can take many cycles before the fluid displaces the air that infiltrated the system when the fluid leaked out. I would keep adding oil after each few cycles and see if you can get the unit to fully function then start looking for the oil leaks!
