Which 1157 would be brighter...LED or higher wattage regular bulb?

Basically just what the topic says...
I can get 1157 led bulbs or go with a higher wattage regular style 1157...the LED's are (the guy thinks) 21w/5w...I can get the others in up to 30w/8w...

Which would be better/brighter?
If one better than the other, Why?

Defenatly led's! 1157 comese with 8 or 9 led bulbs in them
Plus you'll save on the voltage use.
I'm in the procese of replacing every bulb in the car with leds myself. So far the interier is done.

Sup you two. I'm doing this too somewhat. I've replaced my Headlights and high beams already (and foglight bulbs too but the housings are cracked and one has burned out already).
Interior i've put green 194s behind my speedo for reverse indiglo and made my passenger's side maplight (rearview mirror) green by putting a translucent green shade (like a lighting gel) behind the lens.

Will yall both email me at JayBaste7@aol.com or hit me on Instant Messenger so I can ask you stuff about interior/exterior lighting/general mods?

1157's are for our turn signal's right?
Where are you getting the bulbs? I'm gonna run to Autozone today and see what they have cuz i don't like the Amber color in my turn signals and want hyperwhite (for DRL's and turn signals).
I'm curious though: the DRLs are brighter than the "NRLs"- when my headlights come on, the DRLs dim. Would this happen with hyperwhite DRLs also? (i'd like to get bulbs that would work the same way). Post or email me and let me know. Thanks guys,
-J

Regular bulbs will be brighter. My brother put a 1157 led light in one side of his truck tail light under the stock lens and the led light looked more like a small dot.

Regular bulbs will be brighter, leds have a limited range of viewing when compare to a regular bulb. But with the leds you will get more of a pure color from it and it will light up faster

this is true if its a single LED, if you buy the 194 with 4 LEDs and the plastic housing over it, its 10x brighter then a reg bulb, will last much longer, looks better, looks more like the color it should, uses less power, an stay cooler
