Rich,

You sure the bad cams were not the Stage 4 Crower cams 62825-4

At the Valve
236° Intake
244° Exhaust

At the Lobe
220° Intake
228° Exhaust

Did you switch over to the Comp XE258BH-116?

That one is a lot smaller than it lists.

At the valve
222° Intake
224° Exhaust

at the lobe that's around
206° Intake
208° Exhaust

Bret: that's right on. I was quoting the specs from my (aging) memory. There was nothing wrong with the cams per se - no excessive runout or flat spots as others have reported. They just could not be made to run worth a damn. I didn't mention any manufacturers since I hate to trash a company when it's not necessary to do so.

Thanks Rich.

I've been looking at these motors closer and I did a little diging to find out what the deal is. Nothing wrong with the Crower stuff at all, in fact they have 4V lobes that are a lot less aggressive than the Comp ones. Crower even had a good set of cams for that setup that would have worked as well as the Comp set you guys ended up running.
