The cam's weren't too big,the RPM's were too low.
Put a 5/1 gear in it and watch out.(JOKE)
We are shifting(glide) at 9,500 with 26PSI and running 8.90-9.20 in a 3100lb 'stang with 12x33's. That's with 281CID-no stroker.

It did run fine above ~3,500rpm, I'll admit.

Yep, I often run into this same thing.
Somebody wants the biggest cam in the world and expects it to drive like stock and doesn't have the cubes/compression/converter/gearing to match it.

The headgaskets had been blown out where the bore gets closest to the edge of the block on 7 out of 8 cylinders.

I bought a cam from a guy once. I filled out his form and it came through the mail. I installed it and it hit the rods. He told me to pull the motor and grind the rods.
