Wiring...97 3.8L gets built LS1
Help!! LS1 Swap...PLEASE!!
OK, here is the deal. Buddy put a built LS1 into a 97 V6 camaro. We've got most of the wiring done up ok, but for some reason, can't get fuel. I can hardwire the pump, and it energizes and gives us pressure....so we tried a quick hardwire just to see if it would start up...and now it appears the injectors aren't firing for some reason. I'm thinking the fuel pump relay isn't energizing (or, lets say I know it isn't), because I think I need to take the GRN/WHT wire from the PCM pin 9 straight down to the dash harness under the passenger side dash to energize the fuel pump relay in white connector. Does this sound correct? Does the fuel pump relay not energizing have anything to do with not firing the injectors, or is that a seperate issue? The PCM supposedly had VATS dissabled, but something else maybe? Need some help please, would like to finish this up tonight, or tomorrow. Thanks!
Update: I wired the relay trigger wire to the fuel pump relay from the PCM, and had good continuity from the PCM to the relay...then I wired the relay ground from the PCM to the relay, and had good continuity there, and checked the ground wire on the relay to a body ground itself...and still, the relay wouldn't energize...the weird thing is I could manually energize the relay earlier. I checked the trigger wire coming out of the PCM for voltage at key on, and there was nothing. There should be voltage coming out of there, am I correct? I'm not an LT1 or LS1 wiring guru, but I can find my way around, just can't seem to understand this. Is there a sensor that could be reading messed up that won't let it energize, such as VATS or the Theft Deterent Fuel Enable signal? PLEASE throw in your two cents!
