Do we really need it? I got my shortblock back from the shop last week and I had the mains studded. Now it's going to take a little finagaling to get the windage tray back on there. Is it that big of a deal if I leave it off?

 

I also have studed main caps but I got the Canton 15-242T oil pan and Pickup tube. It havs an integrated windage tray and crank scraper. All fit well and Is not sticking out from under the car.
