Post what is the trick to seating the tranny pump?

I am finishing up a rebuild on my 700R4 and I am stuck on installing the tranny pump, I can get it all the way down to the pump seal and then it doesn't seem to want to go anymore. Is it supposed to be hard to install or should it just slip right in? I have had it in and out three times (had to replace the shaft seals after the first time)and all times it only gets so far.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
John

It should go all the way and then have maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch more to go in. If that's what your talking about just thread the bolts in and use them to pull the pump in. Once you get done make sure that the input shaft turns(it will only turn in one direction and it will be hard to turn) if it doesn't you misplaced something causing the clutch packs to compress.

If you use the bolts you will not feel if you cut the rings
