An LT1 swap will certainly help maintain the value of the car. However, be prepared for a difficult and costly swap. It's up to you. But add up the engine, trans, all accesories, driveshaft, exhaust, computer interface, and shop labor. Then add $1,000 for incidentals. Research this well before you make a decision.</font>
Well , I will reasearch it well and try and get all my parts for cheap. Im gonna go to TAcreations.com and get an LT1 engine with every thing there. I did a search on this sight and lots of people said the swap should come out to about 4 to 5 grand with everything added up.

I'd scrap the whole V8 idea and try a Turbo 6 from a Regal/T-type.

The LT1 swap is a little better idea, although there will still be some major bank to be paid out to do the swap.

This is just my opinion, I mean its your money so do what you want to with it, but if you already have 5g's in the bank why don't you just sell the V6 and buy a 94-97 Z and pay CASH for it. Then you could just have liability on it so your insurance would't so high AND you have a car that was made from the factory for the LT1 so you wouldn't have to worry about all the problems and hassels of putting an LT in your 6.. PLus with all the $$$ you'll be saving from not doin the swap you can pour it into the Z and have a fast, good-looking ride.

But like I said....thats just my opinion.

Kind of a mute point, but as far as insurance goes, if you should happen to wreck/total a V6 car w/ an LT1 in it, you will only get the money a V6 is worth...unless you change the VIN number (pretty much illegal).
