If anyone is seriously interested ($38k) please send me an e-mail. Don't want to detract from the subject matter of the thread.
Thanks.

one thing that wasnt brought into this(or maybe i just missed over it) is the thought of supply and demand. not everyone wants a newer block because not everyone wants to deal with all the complicated computer BS. i, for one, went with a late model 383, it may have been expensive but i also know that i wont have to deal with a lot of things that many ls1 or newer blocks deal with. the only thing computerized is the carb. and im changin that as soon as possible. but i digress, there are still a lot of younger kids learning on there new engine, and what are they gonna work on a gen 4 6L that they could f**k up all the computer settings and destroy there engine? or an old school 350 that they dont have to worry about all the money for programming. that compared with, as was previously stated, the increase in price of steel i believe could be a large factor. john

TOTALLY off subject, but Kurt from W2W dynoed one the other day and it put down 454 rwhp!! Not bad.... alittle more than 505hp though!
Re: What is GM trying to do with block prices?
Actually that 11% loss is probably right... the SAE HP numbers now are from a 3rd party, so I would bet that GM really did a good job making the driveline as efficent as possible.

I new it wouldn't be long before someone was throwing up RWHP numbers from one.
11% is very impressive!
Happy to see guys getting them early... hope all the bugs are out. GM is saying there may be a late release on upcoming batches due to various issues so I'm not holding my breath. They did say "4th quarter" so I'm more than happy to give them the time they need to iron out the kinks.
