What am I getting 40 degrees of timing?

I do tend to get self-defensive and argumentetive - a definite personality fault - but don't ever let that stop you from posting your thoughts.... I respect your input, and recognize that I can be wrong (I can recall a case about 4 years ago... ), or that what I post may seem crystal clear to me, and totally unintelligible to someone that isn't using the same point of reference.

if your only showing 10% throtttle could that be causing the pcm to be looking up cruise timing tables (say 43 degrees) as well as the kPa vs Rpm tables (say 35 degrees) and averaging them out? Just a thought
