Question Valve to Rocker Lash

I'm currently building a 406 chebby.... large duration solid lifter cam, gold roller rockers, stud girdle, etc.... what i need to know... after i adjust the valves... how large of a gap.. if any should there be between the rocker tip and valve. Any tq ratings? the rockers cam with no instructions or anything.... Also.. are there any special break-in tips.. or just the general(ive never run rollers before). Thank you

Re: Valve to Rocker Lash

No break-in necessary with a solid roller.

Your lash specifications should have come with the camshaft. You should be fine with .018-.024.... I'd probably just go with .022 (hot).

The procedure is outlined on Century's website.

Also need to recheck your lash once you install the stud girdle. The girdle can tweak the lash a bit. If you get everything setup correctly (hot) you can then check your cold lash, record it and set the cold engine to those specs. Beats working on a hot engine.
