Unknown Motor

Ok, I bout a 94' Camaro that used to be a V6 car. someone put an early model 350 in it. Which they have the most ghetto wiring job I have seen in my life. Also someone told me that to do an engine swap on these cars you have to bring it in the bottm. Is that true? That seems a little insane. It looks like they made it fit or something (cut into the cowl). Anywho I am sure many people have converted these cars to carburated motors. Which is what is done w/ this car. I have noticed how far the motor sits back also. Is that normal? It looks like they made some homemade motor mounts also, the motor is leaning to the passanger side.... Most cheap/ghetto job i have ever seen... If you could only see it lol There doesnt seem to be room for an air cleaner though... Im thinking that there "Home Made" motor mounts makes the engine sit up to high. The car has a hood but they made a "Home Made" scoop on it, so in other words its junk. Anyways to get to the point I have a few questions for you guys:
1. Is there plenty of room for a normal size air cleaner?
2. If not, what is the method for a filter system?
3. For a early model block, is there room for a blower? (SC)
4. Do I need to get a fuel pressure regulator for it?
5. Can the engine come out from the top?
6. What is the rear end specs on a 94' V6 Body?
7. Also they put a clutch fan on it. can It still have an electric fan??

Thx guys

Re: Unknown Motor

I bought it because it was $500, Tranny is rebuilt that I know (dad used to rebuild TH-350s for a living) and already had the modificaiton work done on it to have a turbo-350. just whoever put the motor it (might be rebuilt gaskets look fresh from oil pan up and fresh silicon) was lazy on the custom work. However I did a lil work on it, rewired the ignition and tightened the tranny cooler lines. So far no leaks knocks or anything. Engine runs flawlessly. The carb is junk though. Very Old Quadrajet, looks like they found it burried in the ground. After i relace the carb, put elec fan back in (take out clutch fan, cuz that thing will hack you arm off... No fan shroud) and replace the plugs, buy new vacuum line for the tranny, hook the vacuum line for brake booster back up, buy new fuel line for return. The car motor will be flawless that i know of =) But the body is v. straight, interior is shot... but the dash is flawless. The car has power everything and has new exhaust. Nothing really major to fix on it besides the interior. All it is gonna be is a project car, so interior is not a big deal. Only thing i have noticed is the lack of space for air cleaner. One thing i do need to replace is the motor mounts, the person had custom mounts made (solid w/ no rubber) and the oil pan is not made for the a camaro. Which i believe is because the only place i can find the mounts at is advance autoparts. But the big question i am still wondering is, what kind of air cleaner can i put on it? Do i need to get something fabricated to put a cone style filter on it?

Re: Unknown Motor

I would put a cowl hood on it to gain the needed clearance for an air cleaner. How much clearance is there?

Re: Unknown Motor

I have had that "crazy" idea of getting a v6 Camaro and swapping in a 383 (carbed ofcoarse). It would not be a daily driver but I would drive it on the streets every now and then
