I am curious about the strength of the T56 transmission. Does anyone know what the fastest T56 car has run?

I am looking at buying a car in California that makes 752rwhp...I am very interested in the car, and plan to pick it up in the next couple days...but the car has a T56 in it that has been "gone through".

Will this transmission last at all? The car will mainly see use on the street, but will have some track visits. It will never be raced on slicks either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

If you don't use slicks I think it will be ok. I think mine has stood up because it never really hooked.

i thought I heard they were good for 450 ibs of torque but ive seen cars with more power than that with 6 speeds and they were fine.

I feel better about the car now. Hopefully...I'll own it next week. Long drive from Missouri to California...gotta plan.

I really don't plan to use the car at the track that much...maybe just to find out what it runs but it will mainly get used on the street.
