tpi stealth ram/ mpfi sbc stealth Ram

Hi kinda of a odd question but does anyone know which would beable to work with on a lt1. and what modifications would be required to make it happen. Its a good mainfold from holley and it might be cheaper that by a sheetmetal one in the long run.

Do a search on the Holley Stealth Ram on this forum...

The MiniRam is basically a LT1 intake for a SBC

What would be interesting would be to modify a street tunnel ram for an LTx head...

No, although I suppose that would be the easiest manifold mod.

I was thinking more in terms of injectors at the bottom and two "4-barrel" throttle bodies up top, OR a forward facing TB mounted on the front of a plenum box which is bolted to the top of the manifold. Or for that matter, you could mount it on the rear for cowl induction.

that's basically a HSR then.... The pleanum is big enough not to need two 4bbl TB's

Well, I haven't driven over to Summit with a measuring tape, but if I'm not mistaken; the tunnelram is much taller than the SR.

The Holley Stealth Ram is about 3" taller than the stock TPI manifold. Its so much taller in fact that it will "rub" on the underside of a Camaro Hood, and a Firebird Hood will need to be clearanced on a 3rd gen. For you, with a 4th Gen, well, All I can say is gool luck, The miniram/LT1 intakes are short short short. The stealth Ram is very tall.

I'm going to run out to my car a sec and see how tall the HSR is standing off the block. 10.5" off the block to the top of the fins on the HSR. You will Require a cowl hood and Possibly will require the modification of the area at the firewall, and the actual overhang of the cowl area at the base of the windshield.

In a 3rd gen its lots easier to fit one in as the intake manifold isn't wedged under the cowl. Other than that, its a 1205 Gasket (roughly) for the ports on the HSR, and you'd need to fill in/block off the hole for the distributor.

Here's a picture of a modified Stealth Ram on my 93 Z/28. Note how the cowl has been cut.

We are getting close. Unfortunately, my job isn't allowing me a lot of extra time right now. Plus my tuner is having some health issues and his shop is not open right now. Hopefully before the end of May.

Yeah the old man and I want to turn the work truck into a LS1/T56 setup too! Yeah I know shame on me not doing a LT1. Hell we have two LS1's already, and a LT1.

Mike, I'll be interested in the results once you get it done.

Mike,

Bring that baby over to Kauffman's south of Dillsburg and we'll smack a tune on her!

Steve do you guys do Accel Gen 7 there?

The motor is up and running. When we installed the Stealth Ram, we also switched from the Accel Gen 6 to the newer Gen 7 DFI and it needs to be tuned.

I'll keep you in mind, but I'd really like to have it done by the same guy on the same dyno to get a more accurate idea of exactly how much difference the manifold makes.

Bret I will definetly post the results from both the track and the dyno as soon as I have them.
