throtle body flow affecting throtle response??
I know how a carbs cfm affect the throttle response and power because of fuel atomization but with efi do you loose throtle response with too much flow on the throtle body from less velocity? Im asking this because im thinking of fabricating an efi manifold using a ported tpi lower with an upper that has 2 manifolds on each side. Kind of like the ones on Lamborghini Murcielago like in this pic only have it with 2 tpi throttle bodys on each side. http://www.velocityjournal.com/ip/stk/4430.html
Chuck R. would be your best bet for a scientific answer on this question. He builds an intake similiar to the one on that Lambo for the sbc.
If you look at the Viper V10 it uses a 2 plenum setup like that but with two 64mm throttle bodies (one on each plenum). That would make the job a bit simpler and would reduce some costs. The velocity thing in my opinion is going to be a matter of plenum volume. The smaller the plenum, the better the response of the motor but it may become a problem at high revs because of velocity.... I dunno for sure (just thinking out loud).
Here you have a setup that's divided on each bank... so the plenum volume doesn't need to be as large as it would if everything was feeding from the same trough so to speak. Again, Chuck would be the guy to talk to. I really wanted one of these setups for my ride but it was cost prohibitive.
