Theory for bad opti.
Theory for bad opti.
Some of you may already know some of the things I'm fixing to write, but for those who don't here goes. In my particular case, I swaped out coils with my buddy to see if his coil was going bad. In the process I broke one of the three grounds that is on the bracket. Not knowing this I drove around for a while with a very poor, barley touching ground. I know in my line of work, AC current with a poor or no ground can double or triple the amount of voltage provided by the source. I'm sure it is relativly the same for DC, but don't hold me to this. So if I had what I like to call a "running ground" the amount of voltage produced by the coil should have been raised enough to burn or melt the contacts inside the opti, thus causing it to crap out on me. This is my theory, and I think it could be linked to people who have multiple opti's die on them. All insight is welcome.
