TH-350 _ Accumulator Housing Cracked
TH-350 _ Accumulator Housing Cracked
The case is cracked an no longer holds fluid at the accumulator valve.
Am I out of luck, or is there some sort of trick to save the tranny at this
point?
EDIT - remove pics.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: TH-350 _ Accumulator Housing Cracked
The reason I stuck it here is because I'm hoping there's a method to bypass
the accumulator.
I'm wondering if there's a modification that can route fluid away/around the
accumulator and still have a functional transmission.
The transmission is setup such that I must shift up and down. Vacuum lines
are plugged. If the accumulator is used to build pressure for shifts (what I'm
told),
can I drop the valve body and make a few modifications to keep this tranny?
If the Driveline Forum is capable of answering the inner clockwork of the TH-350,
I apologize. It just seems like an out of the ordinary type of issue.

Re: TH-350 _ Accumulator Housing Cracked
If you have a lot of money in beefing the guts of this trans, find a junker with a good case and have the parts swapped. If it's just an old, stock THM 350, get another one and swap it in.
It looks like the case is toast, and trying to fix it by welding, and maybe even remachining is a waste of time and $, IMO.
"Driveline" might give you more choices. I'm with Fred on that.
There's always JB Weld!
