Re: Stealth Ram Pics

How far back into the cowl of an F body do you think we would be hacking and whacking?

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

How bad is the mismatch at the top of the port? I was hoping that the larger overall port on the HSR would cover the raised Lt1 port. I guess I can buy a gasket to lay on my Iron Lt1's to check the fit. The Impala guys would really love this mod if it was not to difficult. The HSR might build more torque(longer runners), yet still rev(HP) due to the larger runners? I will be awaiting the results from this mod!! We discussed this on the Impalass forum but gave up! AdioSS How about bolting one on to your ported heads!!

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

I have no clue what I charged Mike on this maybe he can remember. I gave him a deal for some of the stuff because I figured it needed it.

I'm working on a single plane bolt on deal that should work a bunch better and work with the aftermarket heads, and have better TB placement. Oh an no cowel cutting.

I think Mike has a 58mm TB which is 1000cfm.

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

Bingo on the throttle body. 58MM.

I wasn't going to post what Bret charged me since I didn't know if he wanted his prices advertised here, but since he doesn't seem to have a problem with it, he charged me about $500 total for the conversion. The intake cost $300 from Summit and the fuel rails were another $200.

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

The Holley/Weiand ‘05 dealer literature is out and it shows the vortec version of the SR as being released (haven’t seen one in person yet). That should be an easier conversion and it would start with taller ports that should be a better match for the LT1/LT4 heads

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

I've heard these Holley Rumors too.... we are still talking about runner length and size here guys. I think the HSR makes a awesome intake for a Impala, I'm not 100% sure on the F-Body yet, partly due to fittment issues with the cowel etc... and partly due to the longer runner length than a single plane. There is a sweet spot for everything.

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

I put a distributor plug in the back of that puppy for him so I would imagine he's doing something with the opti.... Don't look like there is a crank trigger or front mount dist. on there.

Accel DFI Gen VII with an Accel Billetech distributor for the time being. Probably do a crank trigger later.

David @ Thunder Racing (which is a sponsor here also) posted on the thirdgen.org TPI board @ 3/3/05 that they have the Vortec intake available now. He even had a special deal available on it if anybody wants to go over there and look

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

Bret, what all stock components can be re used with the HSR?

also, what or how does the HSR differ in performance then an LT1 intake
i understand the physical differences but rpm and where power is going too be made in comparison is what i have no idea about
how would you compare this to your "ProRam"?

one last thing...
whats your opinion on how this would affect performance on a setup like mine over stock or ported/welded intake. would i be looking at gains with major trade offs, or slight gains that dont justify the dollar etc. etc.

btw....looks good! a little bit of paint really would have made it right

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

Added a few more pics. Sorry this is taking so long. The car is in my friends garage which is about 40 minutes away and my job requires a lot of extra hours right now so I can't work on the car as much as I'd like. The new pics are at the bottom. Numbers 51, 52, 53 and 56.

Just click on Stealth Ram. There are also some pictures of the race car itself check them if you like.
