Here's some pictures of my Bret Bauer converted Stealth Ram installed on the motor.

Looks cool. What's the hood clearance like? Can you give me an idea on cost?

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

That motor looks like it will do some damage.

From the size of that plenum, I'm guessing there are a few cubes beneath
the heads. 383 inch for the race car?

Interesting choice of header primary lengths - unequal? No collectors?
Obviously the headers are not complete. What are your plans?

Looks good on the motor.

Yeah, it's about time I finally got it installed. This winter has been just totally off the wall. It's still gonna be a little while till I get everything buttoned up and get it on the dyno.

Yes, it's the 383 from the race car. The headers are Dynatech's and I've had them on this motor since it was in the street car. I will probably switch over to something else at a later date, just can't right now because of budgetary concerns.

My race car has a Corvette Big Block Style Cowl Induction hood so in my case hood clearance is not a problem. I don't know if it would fit under a stock hood, however, I did have to cut some of the cowl.

Soo. will it, or will it not? That's the question. Fit under the F body cowl that is.

The answer is no. It will not fit under the F-body cowl without some cutting.

I know you wanted to paint it. And to tell you the truth, if I had known it was gonna take me so long to get around to installing it I would have left you keep it and paint it. Oh well, I don't mind it the way it looks.

I don't know the answer to these questions. Maybe Bret or someone else can answer them.

It's a Holley Stealth Ram. The Stealth Ram is designed for the standard SBC. Bret Bauer (did I spell it right Bret?) from Bauer Racing Engines converted it to work on the LT1 block.
Check the link below.

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

You get an A in spelling Mike!

The Stealth Ram has Longer Runners and more Pleanum which can both help on a EFI setup.

It doesn't match up to tall head ports well and the design is REALLY tall. A good single plane like a Super Vic can flow better, but in the end it all matters what you are going after, the HSR was built to replace TPI setups and does a very good job at that.

Re: Stealth Ram Pics

myself and a few others have questioned how this would work in the B-bodies. We've got a lot more clearance under the hood, but I don't want to spend over $300 to find out.

Brett, do you happen to have another of these around (modified or not) that you can compare with the imp ya'll have? I think it will work, especially since the B-body had a big "home plate" are silencer on top from the factory, but it'd be nice to look at the actual shape and everything before paying.

I'm curious also. I measured one very recently.

The unmodified SR manifold is about 4-1/2 inches taller than an LT1.

It looks to me that the closest fit would be at the TB where there's maybe 3 inches from the top of the TB to the hood pad. Lots more room at the rear. This might be doable.
