Re: The SB2 lives

Thanks guys. I do believe there's some left on the table maybe another 25 or so.

MG, you're so right. You should see the torque curve, you wouldn't think it to be like it is with 287cc intake ports. If I was building this just for drag racing it probably could have made close to 800 but there are trade offs I'm happy to live with to be able to road race it and drive it on the street.

No we didn't switch tb's on the dyno. Didn't make sense to spend dyno time seeing as how the motor is lacking plenum volume with the shorter intake anyway. I couldn't see how limiting the flow of the tb would help any. The dominator gives nothing away in throttle response, I mean it's like it reads your mind it's so fast. Low speed drivability should be fine.

I'm hoping it will make 600 at the wheels N/A. It'll be real close.

As far as ultimate power, we feel safe running a 350 shot and more. I'll run it progressively to help the 6sp with launching. When it's all said and done I can see it making 1050 to 1100 at the crank. In theory that should be enough power to put the car into the 8's with it's weight but a million other things have to be perfect for that to happen. I would like to be the first 6speed in the 8's though......

I guess that blows the myth of big ports=lazy ports and lazy ports=high rpm horsepower , I was always taught if the engine is the symphony the cam is the maistro. Proof is in th puddin, the more head you have the less cam is needed to reach "X" amount of horsepower.

Re: The SB2 lives

congrats dude! a realistic number is around 12-13% for drivetrain loss with the manual, which gets you that 600rwhp NA number you want..

awesome!

Dave go after the all time 6 spd record for any car. I believe the # to beat is 8.75@168. For the F-body's I believe Taner is the fastest.

Re: The SB2 lives

Boy would I love that but that 8.7x' car is the Viper right? I'm not sure but I thought he's been faster than that. I would be happy to be the fastest F-body 6sp and the first in the 8's. Come to think of, I'll be happy if it just goes down the track straight
