The SB2 lives

I went there today in the hopes of making the big pulls but a we got pressed for time and the weather was real hot so we elected to wait untill tomorrow. It's supposed to be much cooler. However, we did start it and it lit right off. We did some minor break in to make sure there were no leaks or goofy stuff going on and there wasn't.

Man it sounds awsome. Frankly I'm exited and a little bit scared at the same time. Here are some pics. I'll try to at least get a clip of it running up too.

I'll post here in this thread for the final numbers as well.

Re: The SB2 lives

Here's some video of it running. I was busy and only set the camera up for a short time since I knew we were not going to go for broke. At least I got this so you can hear how it sounds. Tell me what you think.

Right click and save as.

Thank you.

Biggtime, you are correct. How did you know? Lon and Bill are awesome. I'm a customer for life.

Cool. I'll tell them I talked to you. I've worked primarily with Lon to this point and he rocks. Professional, knowledgeable, straightforward no bs kind of guy. He doesn't tell me what I want to hear, he tells me the bottom line like it is but in a nice way. I have been impressed every step of the way in this build. I'm just starting to work with Bill now that the tuning is here. I have equal feelings of him.

Yep very good guys, I work with Bill mostly as I do all of my own stuff and go there for the dyno. Bill has taught me bunches with the DFI stuff!
Tell them I said Hi and the 442 will be done in a couple of weeks!

Will do.

Mastrdrver, I know what you mean. We could not have done this alone. I would like to thank our sponsor, Bryan Herter at PCMFORLESS.com. Without him this would definately not have been possible.

Re: The SB2 lives

Preliminary numbers are in. On a soft tune it made 705hp @ 7300 and 520lb/ft @ 5200 That's with 20/50W oil and 116 race gas through mufflers. Vacuum pump was pulling a little under 9". There's probably 30-40 left on the table as it sits. Merge collectors would increase that by a good amount. I may experiment with them. Right now it has straight 4" collectors. We are going to save the final tune for the chassis dyno. I also believe the smallish bore is going to hold this back a little so I'll be able to get the 750 I wanted when it's all said and done.

To say that I'm happy is an understatement. The motor made 400lb/ft @ 3000 and made peak torque @ 5200 but it carried that number all the way to 7300. That's unheard of. My engine guy said it's the flatest tq curve he's ever seen.

It should be good for 9.90's on the motor and then there's that 300 hit of spray
