I started to put the rings on my pistons, the directions say put the oil relief rings 1" apart from the break of the wavy one. Sorry i forgot the names. But isn't it better to put them 180 degrees apart? because it would mean the furthest distance the ring has to travel to line up.

 

Follow what the instructions say.

The expander and the inside diameter of the rings will hold them in place.
