Re: Questions about AFR's

Ill second what these guys are saying about AFRs. From what I have seen, they are pretty subpar in ported form for what you pay.

IF you want them, I suggest you order a bare casting and send it off to someplace who will design the port for you. Thats what I did and

Re: Questions about AFR's

Bare casting trick flows and have them ported. It is the most economical right now because LT4 intakes arent being made anymore. You will still have another 1500+ into them after all said and done.

the afr heads arnt bad, there portwork isnt that great though. if your going to get afrs, get someone else to port them.

700rwhp can be done with most any of the heads mentioned in this thred.

also what is your budget? thats going to play a big factor too.

Re: Questions about AFR's

Really this discontinued the lt4 intake....damn well im guessing that there is no noticble diffrence between the lt4 and lt1 castings at this point? if so can anyone get me an lt4 intake and budget ist really a problem i willing to spend what it takes to get it done and get it done right although getting it done right and saving money wouldent hurt also i had chosen 64 cc combustion chambers but everyone seems to be leaning to 62 why is this?

TFS never heard of em got a link? and single plane intake do you mean an intake equipped for a monoblade throttle body? and again why the 62 cc combustion chambers and im guessing there is really no diffrence between the lt4 and lt1 castings and intakes once they both have been worked over?

Re: Questions about AFR's

The only difference between the LT1 and the LT4 intakes is that the LT4 has more meat at the top of each runner, so it can be ported to match the taller LT4 head runners. From the factory, the LT1 and LT4 intake manifold runners are virtually identical, and mismatched to the LT4 heads.

They will probably be 64 after the chambers are worked.
Get in touch with Loyd Elliot for the head work, he is a supporting board member.
