Oh I agree. If I owned a dyno, I'd probably get curious enough to try some stuff but since I don't, I'll just do it like the guys I look up to.

Not in any way trying to convince anyone one way or the other... just telling you guys what I do.

While we're on the HV oil pump debate... I don't feel they're as evil as many other people do. They can work... but they should never be used with a stock oil pan that has what is IMO marginal oil control in the first place. A soap box for another day...

Either way.... stick with a well built stock volume, high pressure pump and you'll have less to worry about.

Melling M55A is a 60 psi stock volume 302 Z/28 replacement pump available for cheap.
