No compression
I am at my wits end with a problem trying to get my 383 stroker started.I have a 383 stroker with 487x heads,Ross forged flat-top pistons,Lunati Voodoo cam and lifers(268/276 duration,4.89/5.04 lift.),and a proform distrbutor. It is going in a 1989 Camaro that had a 305tbi and a 700r tranny.O.K. now the problem I am having is that when we put the cam in and was adjusting the valves we had a ton of compression and it was hissing like 10 snakes while we turned it by hand at the crank. So when we got the whole top end put back on and got ready to fire it the car would'nt start and was'nt getting compression. Now it done the same thing not a week ago when I planned on using a hyd. roller crane cam but switch to this cam.I have no clue why it would have a ton of compression when turning the crank by hand but have none when trying to start.I kinda thought it might be the distributor just because the #1 plug is only getting fire once at a time instaed of a constant off and on fire.Or the hot wire Im using to the distributor wont work.I just found a hot wire close to the distributor and used it.But any clues or advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated.Thank you.
Re: No compression
Ya got the valves too tight and when oil pressure hit them they pumped up and are holding the valves open.
