New MSD ignition?? could this work

http://www.msdignition.com/np2002/np2002pd1.htm

Take a look. I have been thinking about getting a Hogans intake for my future setup. The question is does an LT1 cam has a provision for this type of setup? And how do you think this would work with a FAST system? Just trying to think of a way of getting rid of the opti.

Just FYI, we tried to get MSD to cough up the cam synch stub from that setup for several months with no luck. Mark Montalvo spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with them and wasn't able to find anyone at MSD who could (or would) say "yes, we've got one you can have, and it'll cost X". So as far as I know, that system is not yet available.

The cam synch stub will work with an LT1 cam (it replaces the oil pump drive shaft stub), but you'll need a distributor hole at the back of the intake. If you're getting a Hogan intake, then you can simply have them add that feature like I did.

That's not to say it might not be useful. First, as Jimlab is indicating in his post above, the cam signal stub can be used (if they ever make one ) to supply the synch signal to a FAST/eDIS, MoTeC/IEX, etc. for sequential injection and CPC ignition.

Or, alternatively, I would think that once you have the cam signal from the stub, it wouldn't take too much to use that signal to synthesize/replicate the low res pulse from the Opti, and use a crank trigger to synthesize/replicate the high res pulse. Now the Opti is gone, and the stock PCM is "happy". Electromotive was able to synthsize the high res and low res signals with their "Opti-Eliminator" chip, so it can't be rocket science....... of course the E'motive suffered from lack of a true synch signal...... but the MSD CPC stub would resolve that part of the issue.
