need a shop for DFI tuning

My friends got a 97 Z that he just installed the new Gen.7 DFI.We are having trouble finding a good shop with a chasis dyno to do the tuning. Its a nitrous car that we're looking for somewhere around 750hp. on the gas.We live in North MS.and the closest shop we've found is Second Street Speed in Penn.Thats 20 hours from us.We would really appreciate it if anyone knows of somewhere closer. We'll make the trip if we have to ,but would like somewhere closer. Thanks

Don't know much about the mid-eastern states. I do know that Thunder Racing is somewhere in Louisiana.... maybe Baton Rouge? That would be a shorter trip for you for sure. Might want to check with them on this level of tuning.... maybe they can help.

Here's Mr Gasket's online EMIC list .......
http://www.mrgasket.com/emicslst.html
You should be able to find someone closer than a 20 hr. drive.

Thanks guys.Forgot all about Thunder Racing.Tried the EMIC list and believe it or not,but most shops on there either have an engine dyno,or no dyno at all.

Having your car tuned by Bill Hunsberger and Lon Moyer at Second Street is well worth the drive....... .

I think Fred is not only a client but the president of SSS guys. Watch out.

Lots of guys building really fast cars, I just can't see the point in driving that far but that's me.

Wink

I would take a look at Chris Johnson Motorsports out of Alabama. This guy is a hardcore mustang racer - tuner. May be worth looking into.

I would also go to:

www.corral.net

do a search and pull from there mamoth member base.

hey there mustang boys, but most know there stuff and are willing to help out, best of luck to you,

Chad

My comment was purely facetious..... not to mention tongue-in-cheek..... . Agree - there has got to be someone closer to MS that can do a good job on a Gen 7........

I'm only ribbing you Fred. I think everyone in the race industry has a great deal of respect for Mr. Hunsberger and L. Moyer.

I thought there was a serious mustang racer in Mississippi. Forget what his name is but think he races sso or something. Mike Murrilo comes to mind but not sure. I am sure there are a few tuners in the area just gotta find them.

have you tried MC Racing in Kansas City? I'm not sure they tune Accell units but I do know they dyno tune with LS1 edit (personal experience)...it would be worth giving them a call. Besides, they're a whole lot closer.....
