Need Immediate Help with Mighty Demon 825!!!!

I just took the carb out of the box, hooked up all the lines, and hit the electric pump, just to check for leaks, as the pump ran all the lines were fine, but the boosters on the secondaries are pooring fuel into the carb?? It's so bad it's leaking down by the linkage spring outside the carb. I dont know what the deal is, I did read the manual ( afterwards DUH ) and said if using a electric pump to bump the switch a few times or it will flood the carb, is that what happened? The fuel level in the sights is too the top!! Anyways, I need to get this car running before tomorrow-night so any help is appreciated. Like I stated above the secondaries are dumping fuel from the boosters it looks like. Also the pressure was at 12psi on my gauge, I have since turned it down to 7psi. I think I should just let the carb sit overnight and dry then re-try again tomorrow?? Thanks.

Your float is stuck from being thrown around by baggage handlers.
Pull the bowl and fix it and set the tab on the float drop.

Not that pulling the bowl is hard, but sometimes you can just rap it with a wrench and "unsitck" it.

I will try that tomorrow, thanks. I have the car torn apart, mainly wiring it back up, and we have a race tomorrow, hell of a time for me to decide to try a new carb huh?? But that's the way it goes right. Thanks for the help, I thought that since I was running an electric pump and the car was not running maybe it was just flooded. Again thanks, If tapping it doesnt work, how exactly do I fix it or " set the tab " I'm new to the carb thing, I ran a LS1 car before this one.

My 750 demon did the same thing. Check your fuel pressure, and lower the rear float by loosening the hex nut and tightening the phillips screw. That fixed my problems.

throw that POS in the garbage and get a Holley, yes, the BGs are based on the Holley but I have yet to find anyone having luck from a BG carb.

I had a holley and it didnt even compare to this one. That was the only problem that i have personally had with this one. This carb is great IMO, but i am still fairly new to carbs. I love mine, but i guess all carbs are like women, some people like different features than others. HAHA. Good luck with it.

Yeah I would go with what was recomended above.

I like dominators personally. Not that I would ever own a CARBED car. All the fast carb guys around here run them. 1050's I think. Kinda much though for your average street motor. Pricy also.

Well, I removed the bowls, re-set the floats and cleanded the needles. Carb works great now, I think the floats were just set way to high, the needles were clean and free. Anyways, just took it to the track last saturday amd well, I knocked off almost a whole second on my times, not to mention I just put in the new trans. as well. Anyways, I'm gonna try out the new trans. break this weekend to see how much better I can do. Not bad seeing I have a little under $6500 in the car total and am into the 10's.

The needle and seat are probably stuck from shipping. Remove the bowl and unstick it. Then set the fuel level just to the bottom of the sight hole.

I'm running a 358 sbc roller motor. Callies crank and rods, srp pistons, doug herbert roller cam (.614) edelbrock E-tec 200 heads, cranre Gold race roller rockers 1.6/1.5 rpm air-gap intake w/ 825 demon. Lingenfelter TH350 trans. Terry Drive shaft, ford 9" rear w/ 33spline mosers and a 4.11 detroit spool. 27/10.5/15 M/T ET Streets. Amazingly this is it. I was shocked as hell to find out this ran that also!! I got the car for $800, dropped in a 9" from a Ford Pickup, fabracated a set of 4-links for it, had the axles and center-section. I built the motor about 4 years ago for a Nova I had but broke the body, damn subframes!! Anyways, that my secret.
