i don't believe itis allowed, neither was alky. if you want to cheat i guess you could, the one Camaro that said he was running NA, nfw! when the car left, about 30 feet out it just bolted like it was nobodies business! rumor had it there was a cheater nitrous kit installed on the motor, and watching it leave i would suspect there was!

There is absolutely no good reason to run an LT1 block in this class. Using it would cost you more money in the long run and you'd have an fragile uncompetitive piece.

If you want to stay efi'd, buy a set of 230cc RR heads, a 447" short block, and have that LT4 intake modified for a distributor- or better yet get a crank trigger. Nobody says you can't run the LT4 intake on an SBC (www.lt1intake.com can do it, among others). Like everybody else has said, you can still use the headers and all the rest. While you're at it, a FAST sequential box would be especially helpful on the low octane. You should also enlist somebody like Job Spetter to tune the thing- this is the best $$/hp investment of the whole project!

Open that wallet... wider.... wider ...wider.

he took home the Fastest N/A award! that is how! run any power adder, but he claimed all motor, b.s. lol!!! fast car no doubt but why i would imagine he had a reason for not claiming that he had spray on the car.

The only thing is the car has to be street legal, do a 30 mile street drive and run on 93 octane.
it sounds like you have a pretty big budget. why not just do a fuel injected SB2 setup? from what i understand, to run fast on pump gas, you need CUBIC INCHES, lots of them.

The winner averaged 9.4x's for the three runs and, you're right, a few of the cars were 9.0 cars. The vette ran three 9.0 passes after being dq'd and that turbo nova would have been in the 9.0 range as well. I looked at doing this class next year with the sb2 motor we're building and may still do it but we're using the LT1 block for our own reasons and I don't plan on taking it over 1000 flywheel hp. I think a properly built LT1 block/bottom end can handle this on occasion with most of the time being spent in the 700 hp range off the spray. My goal would be to make the top ten. Aftermarket block + big cubes + some spray + super light weight car would be the only way I see a small block car winning with the 600+ inch motors that show up for that.
