Re: LS1 cam bearing install

Installing a cam bearing isn't a major deal. If they are a real machine shop it should be a cake walk. There are no tricks to installing one. Ever built a rear end? There are some tricks involved with that one...

Yea, installing cam bearings in an iron block is straight forward, but I was under the impression there are differences for a LS1/AL block

Re: LS1 cam bearing install

I had the machine shop do it because my SBC cam bearing installation tool was not the right size for the LS1 bearings, thats the only reason. Had the bearings installed and the cam wouldn't go in. Had a bad set of Federal Mogul bearings (to small of clearance) got a new set and all was fine.
