Limits of the stock LT1 intake

does anyone know the point(if it exists) at which this intake will not flow enough air to support a power level at a particular rpm?

Im probably making close to 1400-1500hp to the crank with it. I know the back 2 plugs dont get enough air. Thought about going to a dual plan intake. Just wanted to get some thoughts before i did

thanks

I know a guy making similar power with a modded LT1 intake, he found a lot of power in setting up a multiple wideband system and balancing the cylinders individually with programming. Granted he did not get more air anywhere he just got the air and fuel balanced.

At those power levels, the issue is going to be plenum volume. Simply raising the roof would help. I think someone was offering that service (Jordan Musser????). Might try a "search".

Not sure how that would provide any significant gains, since the Edelbrock appears to be a straight copy of the stock LT1 intake, with a bit of the lower section cut away for the "air gap".

My buddy went with a victor jr style intake and put a hat on it. Its equal distrabution which looks good. I might go with that. Seems to be the style of intake a lot of turbo guys use.

The answer is in this thread..... the engine now appears to be in the 1300-1400rwHP range.

raise the roof! I honestly think switching to a super vic single plane setup would be best and you should see a sizeable gain across the rpm range with that setup over any modified lt1 "breadbox" intake - there is only so much you can do with it.

I would be interested if anyone knows the person(s) who were "raising the roof" lol on the stockers or approximate cost to have it done at a machine shop.
