That's very similar to a manifold design I was thinking about building. Groovy.

what do you guys think that intake would do for me when i get my 195's ported buy Joe overton, a custom solidroller (25x/26x 64x/64x lift), shaft rockers, comp 943 springs and some custom header collectors (4-2-1)? 500rwhp?

Interesting... larger plenum for high rpm support? I assume the intake runners are kept the same length, although they probably stick into the air box like velocity-stacks.

A bit extreme for a mild 383 I'm building... but might be worth it if I ran on the wrong side of 6000 more often.

Kudo's for injinuity. A TIG welder and plasma cutter sound like a bunch of fun.

Also like the way the injectors are raised and moved farther down the runner (I think). For $1500 I'd imagine it's extrude honed on the inside (or at least very well ported for a few more cc's in the runners).

First let me say thanks Quin for making the time and effort to make this intake a reality, I believe you are the first to produce an afforable custom intake besides the pricey ones available by Hogan or MorePerformance. The plenum volume was increased substantially from what I saw in the pictures. Is that your final design or are you working to make more improvements. Definitely interested in this set-up when I stroke my engine this spring. Take Care

KMC aint ready!

It doesn't make the runners longer, atleast from what i could tell in the pics. Isn't that what the LT1/LT4 engines could benifit from.
Its good to see other intake options out there.

the runner length stays the same. the injectors are moved so the hump on top the runner can be ported out and flattened for better flow and injector position. He said the dyno # show a 9-10rwhp increase to 6500 rpm and a 15-20rwhp increase to 7500. and thats the increase from MAX ported lt4 wth the injectors moved and the hump ported, which is 25hp in the 1st place w/ awesome heads/cam combo and good tunning.

from an email :
"In dyno testing we have see gains as much as 20 hp from 7000-7500, with 5-9
hp in the 5000-6500, this compared to a max ported out LT1 intake."

its definately cool for a max effort motor!
what all else is needed to make it work? throttle linkage, can the stock stuff still be used, fuel rails? stock hood? aftermarket cold air inductions designed for the stock intake (SLP K&N etc.)?

Wow, I was hoping Steve would offer these for sale. They look awesome and obviously have worked well for him. Steve has custom made many components on his car, and he really knows his stuff as is apparent by his track times.

Uhhhh...I think they are for sale $1500 plus a core. He just cuts the top off the LT1 or LT4 intake you provide him with, ports it out from the inside, polishes it up, and fabricates/TIG welds up a new plenum and mates to the stock TB in the same position im assuming. It says optional throttle linkage is required since the top two holes to mount the throttle cable bracket are cut off with the old plenum. He has a stock hood on the car so Im assuming it fits no problemo.
