Those are a .060 over piston for a 383 you need a .030. Why reuse the stock rods, you can p/u eagle or scat stuff for less then $200. Plus now you have to pay to get everything balanced vs buying a balanced kit.

What makes you think the $200 rods are better than the stockers? They aren't.

500hp motor + a 300hp nitrous shot? Everything better be of top quality. Forget stock rods or $200 imports.

No, the stock rods will not handle 800 HP. With that large a shot (basically what I am running) you need a piston specifically made for nitrous, and rods a lot beefier that what you get for $200. And don't forget a high quality crank for your 388.

Might have been a good idea to mention the 300-shot in the original post.

Sort of a contradiction, on an engine that's supposed to support 800HP.

I think you need to step back, hold off on the build, and do a little research. It could save you thousands in the future. Ask a few questions around here, learn who to listen to, read a few books, and go from there.
