How to figure in for auto tranny slip?

I am trying to set up my shift tbles a little more accurately, but since they are TPS vs MPH based, it's not as easy as it should be (they could have made it based solely on RPM vs TPS)

I must have some transmisison slip to a certain extent because my car is trying bouncing off the 6400 rpm rev limiter at around 120 mph when it should be around 130mph at that rpm if there were no slippage.

Is this more than average slippage? What should I figure as a percentage?

Would that percentage be effected by type of clutch material, bands, etc?

Mine is a fresh rebuild (less than 100 miles), but was basically built stock except the Transgo kit.

I assume the "slip" is in the converter, unless it just started after working on the tranny. How many rpm is it off?

According to datamaster, it says I reached 6375 rpm at 109 mph. I know the mph has to be off because I trapped at 119mph on that run.

But with NO silp I should be at around 5900 I would think at 119mph

I was told this converter is lockup...if it is non lockup, would that explain the excessive slip? It's only a 2400 stall

The converter should not lock up at WOT in third gear.

Concidering this was my old converter i'd like to chime in-

I took this thing upto 6200 rpm with the rev limiter set at 6400 and no signs at all of boucing off the rev limiter. I also had 3.73s but I was doing it NA.

Hope this can shime some light onto this dilema
