How can we improve this forum?
I was browsing while updating my thread and something else came to mind that is along the same line I stated before, that is there really isn't anything that has been done to a LTx that hasn't been done before.
I think there needs to be a changing of the guard so to speak. At some point LTx Tech specific information and 4th gen information needs to be condensed down like the 3rd Gen stuff is now and a new leaf needs to be turned over to the next generation. This is already happening right now because of the upteen different 2010 interior/exterior/wheels/body/engine/suspension/headlights/turnsignals/etc. forums now. I think the next logical step would be to condense down the LTx/4th gen info so the newer stuff becomes prime time. I think a new format for the message board is in order too so people can search/post by generation.
3rd/4th/5th gen suspension/wheels/brakes/etc.
LS/LT/SBC-BBC engine
Conversions for Retro fits like BBC in a 4th gen, LT/LS into old trucks, miata's, fiero's, etc.
This forum has become too well known for LTx info and it's dying off just like the LTx is, if there is some evolution to the site I think traffic will increase and advanced tech topics will increase to what it was before when LT stuff was becoming affordable for the masses and there was some demand for better performing products. That's when Lloyd/Bret/AI started doing custom H/C packages and new products were being intergrated into the LTx world.

But your big complaint was that in going back through the posts for 10 months, you found a 1/2-dozen posts that, in your opinion, didn't belong here. You then ASSumed there was NO moderation at all, suggested adding a moderator, and requiring that person to read through the posts at least once a month.
I read through them EVERY day. I move the ones that don't belong (about 1/2 of the posts). But because I use an "expiring" redirect, you ASSumed that I never move any posts, and that I don't even read the posts once a month. If you honestly believe that, you haven't been reading this forum as a regular, because the regulars (as few as there seem to be these days) KNOW I'm here all the time.
IMHO, the effort is not worth it. And your comments prove it. There are very few true Advanced Tech topics posted. There are very few people participating that can offer an "advanced" level of knowledge.

I thought that there was either lack of moderation (where adding a mod would help) or the style of moderation was getting a bit lax. one way or the other somthingwas not 100% right.
using an expiring redirect led me to assume nothing (again you were making an incorrect assumption about me). I never assumed that you never move any posts, and that you don't even read the posts once a month. you are putting words in my mouth.
I do not come here on a regular basis like I used to. but I have known you are active here.
I think you took my statement about going back in the post for 6 months the wrong way. I was not trying to say that the forum had not been moderated in 6 months I was just saying I went back a few pages and came up with (list of the posts) post that did not belong here. They made it through your modorator filter when they should not have (by a long shot IMO). Again I was not tryign to say "look at all these old post that dont belong, this place must not have been moderated in ages". I things that is what you thought I was saying right?
as far as the attention you pay to the forum, its great, you come here every day and work on it. I just think you should tighten up on what you allow to stay and what you move.
IMO, I think you could even decrease your time spent moderating this place (since you said its not worth it). maybe come every other day or somthgin liek that.
i hope none of this comes off as somthign other than what it was ment to mean.
