Help me get a broke head bolt out the block!
Help me get a broke head bolt out the block!
ok, someone told me about drilling and extracting it out. the drill fits w/o haveing to mess with moveing the block around. However, the titaninum drill bits dont do anything but sit there scratching the paint off those hardend arp bolts, they look like haveing a snow ***** chance in hell of drilling though them..... I used a reverse drill bit from autozone, not that expensive but it was hard finding a reverse drill bit. Infact, they were the only ones in town who had reverse drill bits out of Lowes, napa, harbor freight. advance auto, and sears. None of which carries reverse drill bits. Anyway, im willing to try a tougher drill bit before i go to plan B. WHat kind of drill bit is going to drill through "Hardend" steal or metal?!?!?! WHERE to go and WHAT to get?
Re: Help me get a broke head bolt out the block!
I've used the sears easy-outs in the 4 pack for around $40 bucks with good luck, but the bolt I was taking out wasn't hardened. It's worth a try. You run the drill backwards until it makes a hole, then push the collar down and the extractor will pull the rest of the bolt out.

Try cutting a slot for a screwdriver bit with a Dremel, then use a hand held impact driver[ the kind that you hit with a hammer]
That should get it out..
That should get it out..
