I haven't decided if I like the way it looks or not, I'll decide when I see it in
the car. As for how will it work, I think it will work just fine when he gets the
air/fuel right, the plenum in the LT1 intake is very restrictive. The time slips
will tell for sure.

The Vette runs N/A, flat top 383 w/T350 trans, foot brake, 9"radials. I tell
him it would go quicker if he would just limit the front end travel.

+1

I've never seen an LT1 style intake with two throttle bodies.

Cool looking intake man, I can vouch for this car b/c I have also seen this car run low 10's before, I was shocked when I looked under the hood and saw a relatively stock looking LT1. At 2,500lbs my old heads/cam 355 LT1 would have run low 10's too. Later Clint

Hey Clint,
You race at no problem raceway?

Glenn won the money race last Friday at no problem running 10.10 ET's in the Vette. It's one of the most consistent cars I've seen. He hopes to run the new intake soon, he doesn't want to have tuning issues interfere with his points standings.

Finally saw this car running with the two TB intake. It was a less than
impressive night out. With the original tune the engine popped at the top
of first gear. With no tuning tools it was believed to be lean, more fuel
was added and the problem got worse. Taking fuel out the situation
improved and he got a decent pass 1.36 60 ft, 10.21 @127 at 2700 lbs in
the heat and humidity. This was about 0.02 seconds off normal for this
weather. Still way fat, he tried to take more fuel out but the lap top froze
up and the track shut down before making a final run.

I think what happened is the MAP sensor is seeing higher manifold
pressure resulting in the rich condition. A wide band O2 would be
nice, more to come.

Looks to me like what you are trying to do is increase the plenum area and the throttle body area. By doing this you want to even out the air distribution to all cylinders.

Maybe another way of doing it and simpler would be to eliminate the lower throttle body and use a monoblade throttle body for the top. Anyway you cut it I love the experimentation. When things are dialed in you might very well pick up some power.

Yes, the objectives were to increase plenum size, improve air
distribution and increase intake plenum pressure. A mono blade was
considered but decision was made not to spend the money. This was
a low buck project (free labor), the only money spent was for the
second throttle cable.

The plugs in the rear cylinders were burning rich, we thought about
leaning them out by balancing the injectors but decided to add air
instead. The bottom of the plenum is near stock, the top section
dumps into the bottom plenum after flowing over the front four
cylinders.

Thanks Bob,
With the Vette hood hinges in the front you get a side to rear view, it
looks cool. Looking at the set-up it becomes obvious that good looks
is not the primary focus. It a consistent, reliable week-end bracket
racer that appears to be a thrill to drive. In the winter it trips the 60 ft
clocks with the back wheels and is normally in the top five in the points.
When all is said an done if it goes faster it will be a success.

To me, more even air distribution would have been achieved by putting the throttlebodies on top of the manifold longways, end to end.

Another option was to go the same route Emily took with her LT1, very effective.
