Doing a paper on valve springs, need help!

I'm doing a research/tech paper on valve springs and wanted to know if anyone had any good write ups and pictures/charts on tests of 'em? I can write about anything I want on them including cost, manufacturing, companies, materials, etc.

I am really interested in finding something on the new bee-hive shaped ones I keep hearing about, too.

Thanks,

Kyle

PS - I'm mostly looking for stuff not done by a manufacturer so it's not all about promoting their own line. I found an article in a journal about tests on Winston Cup engines and the technology in their valvetrain. I'm looking for more stuff like that.

Those things usually aren't found by just googling. And I figured there would be some people on here with good knowledge on it.

Comp Cams has an online catalog and lots of good technical information on their website. Crane Cams about the same.

Springs are springs, you may find good information outside of automotive applications on general spring theory and design.

Call Robert Kamp at K-Motion for a solid background.

I think Vizard wrote an artical for PHR on the beehive springs. If you search their site for David Vizard it will come up.

There are some good ones in Circle Track. Do a search for Billy Godbold.

You might want to look up the "discussion" on springs I did a while back with Joe O on LT1 tech, lot's of good links in that thread.

I ended up finding some pretty good ones. That David Vizard one helped a lot! Thanks! Turned in a 3,000 word, 14 page paper on valve springs alone! Man I'm glad I got that done.

Thanks again for the help guys

Kyle
