Post Define EGR and it's effects

I'm having the hesitation/stumbling problem a lot of people lately seem to be having, but no one can seem to narrow down the problem to a specific problem. From what i've heard The most likely culprit is the EGR (bad idle, bad light throttle, fine when cold, fine under WOT) I have the hooker LT's and i made a blockoff plate for the EGR. Is there something i didn't do did wrong that could be causing this problem. The problem only started about 2 weeks after the header install was done.

I think you should start looking elsewhere for your problem.

The EGR system doesnt work at idle, only low RPM/low load conditions, with the car moving faster than 17mph.

Furthermore if you've blocked off the EGR valve there's no way for exhaust gases to enter the engine again.

on the other hand, if you havent tuned the PCM to eliminate the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) function, the computer still thinks it's there and normally richens the mixture to compensate for the additions. without the gasses in your engine, it's going to run pretty rich. we found out the same thing on a bud of mine's stang a while back. get LT1 edit or send the PCM to TPIS for a tune. from what i remember there only charging a benjamin for a tune on your pcm with a 2 day turnaround. happy rodding,

another thing i did was splice into the oxygen sendor wires. I will have these replaced this evening when i get home with O2 extenders and new O2's. After changing these, i guess the PCM is the only next option.

What is the contact info for TPIS?

Well, I've changed the O2's and used O2 extenders. Although the car seems to run smoother, and a little better... I still have the hesitation/stumble under light throttle.

I checked out that TPIS, seems that they only do chips, not tuning.

Have you tried posting this on the LT1 Tech board? It doesn't seem to be getting a lot of repsonse here, and I wouldn't expect it to.

Yes, and no one has an answer, so i thought the more "advanced" people here would have some suggestions...
