Coil on Plug ignition

I am looking for a good system, but all I can find is the Electromotive system, which isn't really coil on plug. The LS1 system is the only one that I can think of, has anyone adapted this to a non LS1 engine?

Any help is awesome.

Have you looked at the MSD "CPC" IGNITION?

Alternatively, you can build a full coil-per-cylinder system with the LS1 coils, and an aftermarket ECM with multi-channel ignition driver.... e.g. MoTeC/IEX, FAST/eDIS. All you need is a source for a cam position signal. If you do a "search" there is a thread on here discussing alternatives to the OptiSpark ignition on the LT1, and there is a link to pictures of a FAST/eDIS setup using a self-built cam position sensor.

Another alternative is Megajolt, but you'd have to wait probably a few months. Fully, real time programable system that you build yourself. I'm going with the JR version which is wasted spark, a coil for 2 plugs, good enough for me.

Call it nitpicking if you prefer, but COP is AFAIC, reserved for spark plugs that protrude thru the v. covers. This makes it feasible to mount the coil on the plug. This usually means straight 4s or 6s with todays engines. The GM LS1s (and now the LT1s w/the LTCC ) are considered CNP (near). As a bonus, I'll add that GMs DIS (direct ignition system) is a waste spark ignition system. This system fires 2 cylinders at one time. Not the same as the LS1 type system. This system is used on Buick V6 and Cad Northstar.
