ok, tpi is on the 73 vette and

it gets hot as hell under the hood
coolant gusge doesn;t work but the lines are realy ****ing hot!

we thought the RR were making the loud noise but its only on one side- thinkin knock?

and then all at once lots of smoke comes out of the PCV and sidepipes

our o2 sensor reading is 0.02x

anyone hav any idea whats up?

more than one problem?

the "rr" noise was there before teh carb swap

it also idles irratically

Trey, I have the same problem. #1 Make sure that there are NO vacuum leaks. #2 Get a 3 or 4 wire O2 sensor. The factory style 1 wire hasn't worked for me on my new motor at all so I am gonna switch. Also, make sure that the TPS sensor is reading .54V with the throttle blades closed and also that the IAC is functioning correctly. In my opinion the IAC and O2 are probably at fault. Get a temp guage on that damn car too! Overheating=blown head gaskets/cracked heads.
