So you have to take a LT1 gasket and drill the holes that don't exist into the SBC head casting then?

Yeah and they are at different angles.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the differences in the deck surfaces... But I think that issue can be resolved with some minor drilling in the head surface to match the block. I know there was an article in one of the big magezines (Car Craft, Hot Rod, Chevy High Performance, etc.) that went through running LT1 heads on a SBC block and the changes weren't anything all that challanging... It would follow that changing the head to match the block would be even easier (AL not iron).

My main question for you LT1 guys is what are the port measurements of the LT1 and LT4 intakes? The Brodix ones are published on their site for the various heads they sell.

I dunno, seems there is a lot of resistance to this idea and that is understandable. Bolting things together is much easier than taking on something like this. But for the guys that have access to the type of pricing I can get and are on tight budgets I think it might be worth it. The pricing on the CNC'd Track 1s that I can get (and that is with whatever spring you want, Ti retainers, fully assembled, etc.) leaves you with quite a bit of cash to play with before it equals what AFR 210s that still don't flow as well will run.

It's really not that simple of a process to convert a SBC to a LT1 block, really. AFR has to have their castings welded up for conversion to the LT1.

It can be done, yes. Is it a pain in the ***, yes.

Shoot me a e-mail on the pricing of the Track 1's

Well, maybe it really is too much work/money to make it worth while in the end... I really don't know but I would check it out if I was building something along the lines of what I just built in LT1 form. The more you can do on our own, fabrication and machining-wise, the more attractive something like this package would be...
