Block Filler
Block Filler
Thinking about doing a partial block fill and wanted to know if anyone has done it with a street driven FI lt1. I've already done tons of searching and couldn't find anything with people who have done it with FI.
Basicly, It goes into the coolant passages and stiffens the block, If your cylinder walls are thin it helps keep them in round, It prevents block flex, it reduces blowby from the rings because the cylinders are more rigid. And some people use it to turn an open deck block into a closed deck (fill the block, put something over the top then flip it over to keep it from running out and let it harden)
You talking LT1 blocks or any GM block? and at what power level is it a good idea? I have a Gen 1 block I'm planning on building into a 383 for my Mercedes, looking for ~400 hp n/a with about a 150 shot of nitrous.
