Big Problem, no one knows...
I don't know if this should be here or not. I posted over on the 3rdgen tech and no one knows what this could be. So I thought u advanced guys might know or heard of this problem before. Anyways, here it goes. If this is the wrong place, I am sorry moderators and ur more then welcome to lock it.
Code 33, 44, 53, and 54. I noticed one of my vacumm lines was off so I put that on and also one of my spark plug wires had come loose so I put that back on. But it was like that at the mechanic shop all day getting my fuel line replaced that I broke. Geez, what a day, anyways, I figured out what the codes meant. 33 is a vacumm leak, probably from when I had that line off. 44 is a lean condition. 53 is VATS for 5.0L TBI cars and 54 is low voltage to the fuel pump. where do I begin fixing my car? It will crank but won't turn over and those are the codes I pulled, thanks. Oh btw: when I was cranking it I noticed my throttle bores would fill up with fuel with just a second of cranking, that can't be normal, I think my fuel pressure is to high. Anyways, I checked for spark at the wires and I have no spark, I checked for it at the coil and I have no spark. My plugs are completey black so I have been running rich, yet I get a code 44 which is a lean condition. I checked all my fuses and they are all good. I cleared all my codes so I don't have any now and tried cranking it then but it still wouldn't go. I have a few ideas,
1. Ignition Module
2. Computer is fried
3. After I get spark, reduce fuel pressure.
4. VATS?
Someone mentioned to check the grounds on the heads. Today I am gonna take off my dist. cap and check the rotor and see if my cap is burnt up. I am not real clear on how to check the ignition module. Any other ideas guys? I can't figure this one out. I have a buddy who is sending me his old computer when he went carb so I will try that out in a couple of days. Thanks a million.
