Bearing ???
Bearing ???
Hi, guys did a search and came up empty. I'm finishing a build on my 355 LE3 engine and need the bearings, my build consist of mahle pistons, eagle H beams, and a GM forged one piece crank cut at 10 on the low side. My Q is what bearing do you all recomend I'm looking at the Speed Pro Competition series bearings with the H14 overlay, Just wanted to know what you all think which bearings would be good Speed Pro Competition series or the Clevite H bearings
I have used federal mogal (Speed Pro) brand connecting rod and main bearings.
They worked perfect, after my drive way engine over haul on my diesel my oil pressure is up a bit form 10psi hot at idel. Now it never drops below 25psi.
$110 well spent.

Do you have to have any extra clearence on the crank for the coated bearings. I have a friend tell me i had to have .01 extra cut into the crank for coated bearings. I have never heard this before.
Just assemble them with GM E.O.S. assembly lube.
PN#: 1052367 I think it was $8 for a 16oz can.
I covered all my bearings with it, filled the oil pump/main cap up with it before slaping it back on and put some in the oil filter.
I should all so tell you that I reused the old oil pump and still gained all that pressure.
Some people are starting to turn away form moly assembly lubes, because the moly is super hard and is some what abrasive.
Plus it clogs the oil filter.
Put those 2 together and you could have a very expensive "oh shix".

Just to update you guys, Summit didn't recomend the H series for me so I went with the Clevite P series for both rods and mains and the Dura bond hi perf. for the cam. What do you guy's think?? they told me that the H were for aftermarket crank.
