Anyone running 160# injecters(part 2)

Im out of fuel again at 20lbs with 83# injecters with 80psi of fuel. Anyone running 160lb injecters? If so let me know how well they idle on gas

Yes, fine with 1,100rpm idle in a 383.

They tend to be decent with sequential fuel injection. The GN guys have run them for years with sequential.

If you have a "batch fire" or "bank to bank" (as are most aftermarket LT1 setups), they may be rather poor unless you can tolerate a very rich idle (13:1 or richer). With twice the firing pulses 83's bank to bank & 160's sequential are nearly the same.

Rich if you are referring to your car with a stock computer, it should idle quite nicely. I've had a few 383's that would go no lower than 13.7 at a 900rpm idle in bank to bank mode.

Lonnie: the idle is that high to get decent vacuum. In closed loop, it will maintain 14.7 at 800 just as well.

Do most of you guys notice the same thing...With a batch fire you cant get the a/f above 13.8ish with out the motor bucking a bit and going lean. If I went with a seq box would that allow me to run the motor leaner such as 14.7 without the car bucking because its lean

Re: Anyone running 160# injecters(part 2)

I tried the 160's and cant get the computer to control them with my batch fire box. The problem is its constantly going from 0-20% correction in the same cell. I try changing the surrounding cells on the map and get no luck. I didnt have any problems with this running 83# injecters. I can get the car to idle fine with a 13.5-14.0 a/f .Crusing is when I get all the problems. Has anyone got this to work with bank-bank? Im assuming most did it with SFI.

The one reason I want to keep the 160's is because I want to mix meth in with my 110 octane fuel. I dont want to spray meth, thats just one more thing to go wrong during a race. I think the car will make 1100rwhp at this point, but I want to be able to daily drive the car still.
